How to Use GeoLeadScraper

Master the art of extracting quality leads from Google Maps

    Basic Usage

    1. Search on Google Maps

Navigate to Google Maps (maps.google.com) and enter your search query. Use the format: 'niche + location' (e.g., 'dentists in Austin TX' or 'coffee shops near downtown Seattle').

    2. Apply Filters

Use Google Maps' built-in filters to refine your results. Filter by rating (4+ stars), number of reviews, or businesses that are currently open. This helps you find quality leads.

    3. Load More Results

Scroll down the left sidebar to load additional businesses. The extension captures only what's loaded, so scroll to increase your results (typically 20-200 listings per search).

    4. Click the Extension

Click the GeoLeadScraper icon in your Chrome toolbar. The extension will extract all visible business data from the current search results.

    5. Export to CSV

Review the extracted data in the extension popup, then click 'Export CSV'. The file downloads instantly and opens in Excel, Google Sheets, or any CSV reader.

    Best Practices

    Keep Extractions Small

Extract 20-100 businesses at a time rather than hundreds. This improves data quality and reduces the risk of rate limiting from Google.

    Use Specific Searches

Narrow your search with specific niches and locations. "Italian restaurants in Brooklyn" yields better results than "restaurants in New York".

    Reasonable Pace

Wait a few seconds between extractions. Don't rapidly extract from multiple searches in quick succession to avoid triggering Google's rate limits.

    Verify Data Quality

Always review your CSV exports. Some businesses may have incomplete information on Google Maps (missing phone numbers, websites, etc.). This is normal.

    Respect Privacy Laws

Use extracted data in compliance with applicable laws (GDPR, CAN-SPAM, etc.). Only contact businesses that would reasonably expect your outreach.

Paid Plan Features: Email & Social Discovery

How It Works: On Pro and Business plans, when a business listing includes a website URL, GeoLeadScraper attempts to visit that site and extract publicly available email addresses and social media links.

    What We Look For:
    • • Business email addresses (typically found in contact pages or footers)
    • • Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and X (Twitter) profile links
    • • Only data that businesses have publicly published on their websites
    Important Limitations:

Results are not guaranteed. Success depends on whether businesses publish this information and how their websites are structured. Some websites may have emails protected by CAPTCHA or JavaScript, which we can't bypass. Expect varying success rates (typically 20-40% for emails, higher for social links).
