Question 1

What is GeoLeadScraper?

Accepted Answer

GeoLeadScraper is a free, open-source Chrome extension that extracts publicly available business data from Google Maps search results, plus all reviews of a single place, and exports it to CSV, Excel (XLSX) or JSON.

Question 2

Is it legal to use GeoLeadScraper?

Accepted Answer

Yes, when used responsibly. GeoLeadScraper only extracts publicly available information displayed on Google Maps. Users must comply with Google's Terms of Service and applicable laws.

Question 3

Can I export Google Maps reviews?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Open a single place on Google Maps and click Extract reviews in the GeoLeadScraper panel. The extension opens the Reviews tab, scrolls through all reviews and lets you download them as CSV, Excel or JSON with the author, rating, text and translation, dates, sub-ratings, photo links and the owner's response. You need to be signed in to Google, because signed-out users get a limited view of Maps without reviews.

Question 4

How do I install it? I get "Manifest file is missing or unreadable".

Accepted Answer

Download geoleadscraper-extension-vX.Y.Z.zip from the latest GitHub release, unzip it, then in chrome://extensions enable Developer mode, click Load unpacked and select the folder that contains manifest.json. The "Code → Download ZIP" button on GitHub gives you the source code, not the extension, and loading that folder causes the manifest error.
